Restaurateurs Steve Tzolis & Nicola Kotsoni (Periyali, Il Cantinori & Bar Six) opened the Bar Room two+ years ago, excitedly bringing the American bistro concept to Midtown. Open for lunch, dinner and brunch on the weekend, the venue offers a classic American menu with touches of global influence and is committed to quality ingredients and refined techniques. Chef Aaron Phillips, a 5 year alum of Le Bernardin, ensures classic bar food is turned up a notch: the Bar Room Burger, a propriety blend of short rib, brisket and chuck that took 40 iterations to master, has cheddar, truffle aioli, pickles and crispy onions, Classic Hot Wings are done as they are in Buffalo and Short Rib Sliders with carrot-jalapeño slaw can be found in front of imbibers at the bar or scattered throughout the Skylight dining room. Aside from traditional bar grub and unexpected globally inspired fare, The Bar Room ups the ante “behind the stick” with mixologist and head bartender Danny Neff’s pre-prohibition cocktail program.
